Chicken wings are one of my favorite meals to make my family. I buy a beautiful bag of delicious plump naked pieces, slather them in whatever batter I decide to use that day, and let the air fryer do the rest.
The wings come out crispy and delicious and cause my dinner table to be silent except for the sounds of lips smacking.
Wings are such a versatile dish that you can serve them with any sides or sauce from French Fries to a salad.
These delicious finger-foods are perfect for any occasion. I have cooked a large pile of Buffalo wings for a Superbowl party I hosted, and I have also whipped up some gourmet Sweet and Sour pieces for a more intimate dinner at home.
The possibilities are endless when you consider the number of combinations of sauces and spices you can use to dress up a plain old chicken wing.
I have listed a few of my favorite recipes to try on your air fryer that will have the people sitting at your table asking for a second helping.
First, I just want to go over the basics of how to cook Air Fryer Chicken Wings Recipes. This type of cooker eliminates the need for all of the oil that a deep fryer uses, which means the meal is healthier to eat. The following tips should help with making the right wings for your occasion.
Choose the Right Size of Wing
If you are hosting a casual party for a bunch of your buddies to come over and watch the game, then you will probably want the largest, juiciest and chunkiest wings you can find.
You can find fresh these are usually found in the frozen food section of the grocery store or the meat department.
If you are looking at wings for appetizers, then you can purchase smaller wings that can easily be picked up and nibbled on while walking around and mingling.
Decide on the Flavor
The types of breading and sauce will depend on which Air Fryer Chicken Wings Recipes you choose to use.
If you prefer saucier and softer meat, then you can use a thin layer of flour for your first coating and then cover it with your favorite sauce.
Some occasions call for a thick, crunchy breaded wing, which will need a heavier layer of cornbread or breadcrumbs.
It is important to pat the wing dry regardless of which sauce you use, so the toppings stick effectively.
Cooking Time
The cooking time will also be affected by the type of meat you decide to make. For softer, melt-in-your-mouth tenders, you will want to cook them for about 25 minutes, so they are cooked and only slightly crispy.
If you want the ultimate crispy wing, then cook them for longer. I suggest checking them every few minutes to make sure you don’t overcook them.
Once you have done the same recipe a few times, you will become a pro at frying times.
