Whipped Feta Dip with Honey and Walnuts
Every time I make this whipped feta dip for a party, someone corners me in the kitchen and asks for the recipe before the night is over. It started as a last-minute addition to my daughter's graduation party appetizer spread, and it instantly became the star of the table.
The combination of tangy whipped feta, floral honey, and crunchy toasted walnuts is genuinely magical. It looks beautiful on a platter, requires almost no cooking, and feeds a crowd without breaking the bank.

Whipped Feta Dip with Honey and Walnuts
A creamy, sweet, and salty dip that comes together in minutes and disappears just as fast.
Ingredients
- 8 oz block feta cheese , drained
- 4 oz cream cheese , softened to room temperature
- 3 tbsp olive oil , plus more for drizzling
- 2 tbsp lemon juice , freshly squeezed
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/4 tsp black pepper

- 1/4 tsp flaky sea salt , for finishing
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves , optional, for garnish
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes , optional

Tips & Notes
- Use block feta packed in brine for the best flavor and creamiest texture. Pre-crumbled feta tends to be drier and will not whip as smoothly.
- Make sure the cream cheese is fully at room temperature before blending. Cold cream cheese creates lumps that are hard to fully smooth out.
- You can whip the feta base up to two days ahead and store it covered in the refrigerator. Add the toppings right before serving so the walnuts stay crispy.
- For a party, double the recipe and serve it in a large shallow platter so there is plenty of room for all the toppings to show off.
- A little drizzle of good-quality extra virgin olive oil at the end makes a noticeable difference in both flavor and presentation.

Why This Dip Works So Well for a Graduation Party
Graduation parties are hectic, and the last thing you want is an appetizer that demands your attention while guests are arriving. This dip is the opposite of that. You can prep the whipped feta base the day before, stick it in the fridge, and just pull it out and add the toppings right before people walk through the door.
It also holds up beautifully on a buffet table, which is exactly what you need when you are juggling a dozen other things. Unlike warm dips that need to stay heated or cold shrimp that needs to stay iced, this one is perfectly happy sitting at room temperature for a couple of hours.
The best part is how impressive it looks with almost zero effort. A few drizzles of honey and a handful of toasted walnuts transform a simple blended dip into something that looks like it came from a catering company.
What to Serve Alongside Whipped Feta
Warm pita chips are my personal favorite pairing because they scoop up the dip beautifully and have just enough crunch to contrast the creaminess. Sliced cucumbers and radishes are a great lighter option that also add a pop of color to the platter.
For a bigger spread, arrange the dip bowl in the center of a large board surrounded by sliced baguette, crackers, olives, cherry tomatoes, and a few slices of prosciutto. It fits right in with a charcuterie-style setup and gives guests plenty of choices.
